CrossFit Burke Teen Class is a class programmed exclusively for teen athletes (13-17 years old). The focus of our Teen Program is to introduce teens to CrossFit-style training while making exercise fun! CFB Teens will learn how lift weights properly, move well, have fun, and feel and see the positive impact that CrossFit-style training has on them! This Camp is for Teens of all ability levels and is for both male and female teens!

The price is $180/ month. Membership operates on a month-to-month commitment.

CrossFit Teens can function as a great exercise regiment for Teens looking to improve athleticism and build strength. it is also a great tool for Middle and High School athletes to supplement their sports with strength and conditioning. CrossFit Burke’s Remote Coaching is effective in allowing athletes from all over the world to receive expert coaching. We start by having a video call with the athlete to discuss goals and priorities. We assign video homework that mimics are Assessment and allows our staff to see what the athlete’s strengths and weaknesses are. The Assessment allows us to program effective training routines that will bring the athlete closer to accomplishing their goals.


Remote Coaching consists of a weekly video call, program design, nutrition consulting, and video review of lifts and workouts. Don’t let distance effect your outcomes!

Origin Fitness is the premier location in Fairfax for Bounce House, Obstacle Course and Fitness Parties that kids and adults of all ability levels will enjoy! We help create a memorable day bouncing, tackling obstacles and competing with their friends in our 7500 square foot gym!. Our coaches will guide each person through a customized, age and ability appropriate obstacles and exercises. Our coaches will also ensure all bounce house participants have a great time! CrossFit Burke’s Parties and Events are fun, challenging, and memorable!

Our Coaches lead the participants through whatever events they choose for the day, bounce house, obstacle course, or Crossfit Style exercises! We teach them how to complete each station or bounce safely, and allowing time to practice (play!). Once training is complete, the fun will begin!

Party and Event FAQ

Will there be anyone else at your facility during our party?

  • No. Parties are 100% private.


How long are the party/event be?

  • Parties are 1 hour and 15 minutes long. Forty-five minutes is devoted to training the bounce house, Obstacle Course, or CrossFit-style workouts with two of our Coaches. The last 30 minutes is reserved for pizza/cake, etc. This time allotment can be customized to your preference. Please note that parties end promptly at the designated end time in order to clean and set up for the following party/event. We also ask that you do not arrive earlier than your 30 minute set-up window as classes and other events will be wrapping up at that time! We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!


What day/time can we host a party?

  • Saturday: 2:00pm – 3:45pm, 4:15pm-6pm, and 6:30pm-8:15pm.

  • Sunday: 12:30pm – 2:15pm, 2:45pm-4pm

  • Alternative time slots, if needed, can be requested and will be granted pending there is no conflicting class or event being hosted.

How many people can we invite to a party/event?

  • Parties/Events are for up to 15 people/children; ages 3 years and older. Special requests for a larger number of people/children can be accommodated for an additional cost, as they require additional coaches for safety. Maximum number of participants with a third trainer is 21.

  • Cost of additional trainer: $85


Do all parents have to stay if the children are under 18?

  • No. Pending the parent or guardian has signed the waiver for their child, they are permitted to “drop off” and return promptly by the end time. The party host must be informed and consent to responsibility for any children without a parent or guardian present.

  • Please note: for insurance purposes, every guest who enters our facility must have a completed waiver. All guests under 17 years of age must have a waiver completed and signed by a parent/guardian.


Can we bring our own food, drinks, and party supplies?

  • All food, drink, cake, and party supplies are provided by the party host. All vendors are welcome.

  • There are numerous local pizza places that deliver to our facility!

  • All plates, napkins, utensils, table cloths, and decorations are to be brought by the party host if desired. You may arrive 30 minutes early to set up. Clean up service is included and completed by staff.

  • Tables and chairs provided by the facility to accommodate number of guests.


What is the cost of a party/event?

  • Party/Events are $350.00.

  • A $200.00 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a party time-slot (see bottom of page to make reservation). You will receive a confirmation email once booked.

  • A separate invoice for the $150.00 balance will be sent a week before the party and it is due no later than 48 hours prior to event.

  • An additional coach for parties/events with 16-21 participants is $85/party.


Are parties/events only for youth?

  • No! We have hosted several teen/adult parties and they are a blast! We have up Friday nights 7:30pm-9:15pm and Saturday nights 6:30pm-8:15pm (although all slots are available for all ages / celebrations). The cost is $350 and outside food, drinks, cake and party supplies are welcome without restriction. There is no restriction on number of adults/trainer.


What is your cancellation policy? What if I need to reschedule?

  • Please be advised that we require at least 14 days advance notice to cancel or reschedule your party (your party must be rescheduled within 30 days of the original party date). If you cancel your party less than 14 days of your party date, you will be responsible for 100% of the total party price ($350.00). Rescheduling your party less than 14 days of your party will incur an additional $100.00 charge. Please remember that your deposit is non-refundable.

  • The only exception to our cancellation policy is weather. Cancellations due to inclement weather are handled on a case by case basis, and must be rescheduled to a date within 30 days of the original party date. The balance of the party will remain due at time of party. Any party cancelled for inclement weather that is not rescheduled within 7 days will be subject to our standard cancellation policy.

The focus of the camps are to introduce teens to CrossFit-style training and making exercise fun! They will learn how lift weights properly, learn how to move well, have fun, and most importantly, feel and see the positive impact that CrossFit-style training has on them! This Camp is for Teens of all ability levels and is for both male and female teens!

The Camps are Monday through Friday from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.

Do you want to become more efficient at Olympic Weightlifting? Then the Origin Barbell club is for you!

Barbell Club is for both experienced and new weightlifters. Our approach to coaching and programming pushes every athlete to be challenged no matter their skill level and improves strength and efficiency in the snatch and clean&jerk.

Barbell Club will be (6) weeks long. Each week is designed to build on previous weeks as your strength and technique progress. It will run from May 23-Jun29 Class times/ workouts are as follows:

-Class: Wed 10:45am-12:00pm
-Class: Fri 10:45am-12:00pm
- (1) Homework workout to do at your own convenience during Open Gym*

*Open Gym may be used for Barbell Club homework ONLY and no other workouts.

Barbell club will improve your Snatch and Clean&Jerk and refine other movements as well. Barbell Club members will also receive instruction aimed at improving traditional strength movements such as presses and squats. The program also focuses on improving overall leg strength. The Olympic Lifting Clinic is Sunday, April 8 from 1:30pm-3:30pm. The Clinic will go over the the proper set-up, technique and form of the Snatch and Clean and Jerk. This clinic is for all ability levels and provides great insight on Coach Joe's coaching style. If you are interested in learning more about Olympic Weightlifting and the CrossFit Burke Barbell Club this clinic is a must!

Joe is a two-time qualifier for the American Open, USAW Sports Performance Coach, and Origin Fitness Barbell Club coach.

Muscle Up Clinic

Looking to improve your performance during this year’s CrossFit Open season? On February 27th, 2016, CrossFit Burke will be hosting a clinic on how to perform a muscle up led by Coach Alex Gowers. The Clinic will take place the first weekend of the Open on Saturday at 12pm and will last approximately until 2pm. During the clinic participants will learn the foundational movements involved in performing a muscle up along with skills and drills that will increase proficiency on the rings and reinforce good movement patterns that are essential to mastering the muscle up. Ample time will be spent reviewing the technique of the muscle up along with frequent errors and general movement patterns that will help bridge the gap between common knowledge about body movement and the muscle up. Participants will then be given time to practice specific drills and movements that will be linked together in order to complete a muscle up. Participants who attend can expect:

  • Quality coaching focusing on the process towards achieving a muscle up.

  • Conceptual information necessary to understand the fundamental movement of the muscle up.

  • Drills and accessory work that will build the foundation of the muscle up.

  • Time to practice muscle up attempts in a strong, supportive, and collaborative environment that wants to see you at the top of the rings almost just as much as you do yourself.

  • A 4 week program designed to build the necessary strength and skills on the ring in order to complete a muscle up. While many participants may get their first muscle up at the end of the clinic, some may require additional practice and that’s okay. The muscle up is an extremely technical movement which requires volume accumulation of practice time at the bare minimum. If you do not get your first muscle up do not be discouraged, we’ll make sure you walk away with the tools necessary to reach your goals and will be happy to provide assistance with the given programming after the clinic is completed

Warrior Dash! May 14th at Budd's Creek, MD!

It's back! The 2016 Warrior Dash at Budd's Creek, MD on May 14th! Like last year, we are getting the Ultimate Group Package! It includes registration cost, extra free beer, $10 food voucher, a $5 coupon for merchandise at the Warrior Store, complimentary parking, a reserved 10x10 tent for our team, as well as team announcements from the emcee at the Dash! We had over 30 warriors last year!

The Warrior Dash is a great way to kick off summer, enjoy a fun challenge with your friends and family, and enjoy the company of your fellow warriors!

We are doing this in style! We will have our own tent, free beer tickets, food vouchers, and free parking to name just a few benefits! We also get access to a shower area to clean up after the race!

Warrior Dash has streamlined the group sign up process. The way the process will go is I am setting up a Warrior Dash course on the CrossFit Burke schedule software.

Swing into Summer with our NEW Toes-To-Bar and Pull Up Strength Class!

Origin Fitness's Gymnastic's Club is currently offering a T2B program that accommodate all skill levels and build pullup strenght/ skill as well!. Everyone will build a strong foundation of core movements and more advanced progressions will be layered in as proficiency improves. If participants are unable to perform any of the movements they'll be able to scale to a progression that meets them where they are. See below for more details:

T2B & Pull Up Strength Class - Saturdays, 10:00am: The goal of this course is to improve core strength and pull strength in order to be able to do more & better Toes-to-bar! This will involve a lot of core work, technical hanging on the bar, flexibility work, and pull up holds. Athletes that already have T2B will be able to refine technique in order to increase their capacity to do larger sets. Athletes that regularly work with Knee-to-90 variations of T2B will increase strength and coordination to start working with the next progression up. And if you're the athlete that can do T2B, but can't link them then this is the class for you!

The cost of the course is $75

The Class will start on Jun 9th and will run until July 14th. It will involve (1) 45-60 minute class + (2) simple homework assignments per week. The homework workouts will take ~30 minutes each and can easily be done before or after a CrossFit class or on their own. Participants will receive Open Gym specifically for their homework. The session will be 6 weeks long.

Jump Rope & Double Under Clinic $15

Do you want to get better at double-unders or just jumping rope in general? CrossFit Burke's Jump Rope & Double Under Clinic will help you with just that!

The clinic will be held on Nov 12th at 1:00pm-2:30pm. Participants will learn about proper body position and movement for various styles of jump ropes and jump roping, how to move most efficiently, and the proper progressions to advance from one level competency to the next. At the end of the clinic all participants will receive a program designed to maximize a jumper's progression anywhere on the spectrum between not being able to perform single-unders to high rep double-unders.

All levels of ability are welcomed and will be able to take away valuable information from the clinic. Every participant will run through the fundamentals of rope work and basic movements before progressing to the next level so even athletes that struggle with singles can benefit from this clinic! The Origin Fitness 2018 Open Prep Course is designed to help you make the most of your workouts during the Open this year! The Course will focus on three separate areas of fitness that are commonly found in the open. Each class during the week will have it's only area of focus. One day will be spent working on gymnastics movements such as Toes-to-bar, pull ups, muscle ups, hspu, etc. A second day will bring attention to barbell movements such as the snatch and clean and how to best execute them under fatigue. The third and final day will involve pacing, strategy and open workout performance using old Open workouts!

The aim of our Open Prep Course is two fold. Our first goal is maximize your potential at the level you're at. This means making you a master of muscle ups if that's where you're at or perfecting your technique and capacity for jumping pull ups if that's more appropriate. By focusing on what you can do, we can be sure to do everything possible to perform at your full potential when the time comes. Our second goal is to build a strong foundation for more advanced skills that may be the difference between doing a workout Rx and scaling!

The class will be held 3x a week for 6 weeks. The first class will start on Monday, January 22nd. The class times are as follows:

Monday 6:30pm-7:15pm (Open Strategy w/ Jason Brand)

Getting restless sitting indoors? Need a mental, emotional, psychological recharge? Well, CrossFit Burke Sunday Morning Yoga is the right program for you! Let Elinor Klein, eight year yogi, lead you through deep relaxation, deep stretches, and deep thoughts as you become more limber, relaxed, and focused!

The Yoga class is twice a month and every Sunday from 9:30am-10:30am at CrossFit Burke! The Membership is $34 a month or $18 a class to drop-in!

Why Yoga for CrossFitters?

Yoga is for everybody! And especially CrossFitters! The demands we put on our bodies daily and weekly need an outlet and a different way to recover. Yoga compliments CrossFit perfectly. Yoga is calm and soothing compared to the controlled chaos and intensity of CrossFit. Yoga teaches proper breathing, body alignment, and focus. So does CrossFit!

What is Yoga?

The ancient Indian exercise of yoga is being used all over the world to reduce stress, improve health, as well as improve the enjoyment of daily life. This workshop teaches breath work and asana (the physical poses). This workshop is appropriate for bodies of all levels. Learn breathing techniques to relax and restore the mind and body, and others that heat and energize the body. Those new to yoga will learn how to do foundational poses which strengthen muscles, tendons, and joints. Experienced yoga students will try new challenges and create deeper practice. Each participant will also take home a personalized yoga practice to incorporate into his or her life “off the mat.”

Each class will start and end with cardio (flow) yoga and relaxation and will include a middle section of time spent on learning strong alignment for specific poses that are the building blocks for arm balances, twists, and endurance poses.

FAMILY YOGA

Bring just yourself or your whole family to a special Sunday afternoon 60-minute yoga and relaxation class. Children ages 5 and older are welcomed to attend.

The CrossFit Burke Strongman Club meets on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 7:30pm-8:30pm and on Saturday and Sunday at 12:00pm-1:00pm.

The goal of this class is to consistently build strength across a spectrum of implements and movements common to powerlifting, strongman, CrossFit Total, and super total competitions. Athletes will build a foundation allowing them to more specifically peak toward a competition of their choosing.

From month to month, athletes should increase speed and efficiency of movement, as well as pounds lifted, on a number of implements/movements. Some examples include:

1) Each of the super total and CrossFit total movements, including back squat, deadlift, bench press, overhead press, clean and jerk, and snatch, using both barbell and axle bars.

2) Stationary strongman implements, including log cleans/presses, stone loading, keg loading/throwing/pressing, car/frame deadlifting, and heavy dumbbell pressing.

3) Moving strongman events, including farmers walk, stone/sandbag/keg/odd object carries, yoke carries, and tire flipping.

A majority of the Axle and Barbell work will be done on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, while most odd object and implement work will be done on Tuesdays and Sundays.

Training will be intense, with short bouts of maximal effort and longer rest breaks. Conditioning will rarely go longer than 10 minutes of constant activity. Attendance to each session is considered mandatory and "homework" will be prescribed based on each participants specific weaknesses.

We would like to invite any and all who wish to join us for our complimentary class specifically for adaptive athletes with special needs. Several members of CrossFit Burke are involved with YoungLife and Capernaum and have spoken about wanting to bridge the gap between these two worlds. Our staff is composed of several members who have various ranges of experience with kids of all ages and needs and Capernaum Leaders have already voiced their interest in participation as well. Our ultimate goal is to use this class as a learning experience for what we can do to put together a program specifically for Adaptive Athletes and see what we can help them accomplish

Anyone who joins us can expect to partake in basic physical activity. Our complimentary class will not consist of challenging or complex movements, but instead will focus on the basic foundations of movement, exercise, and how to have fun while working out. Participants will need to dress appropriately. Athletic wear is ideal, but loose clothing that will permit free movement will be sufficient as well. We have two private restroom/changing facilities wear our athletes can change in and out of clothes of necessary. The class will be expected to run approximately 60-90 minutes. A typical class would not run as long, but due to it being our first time meeting and seeing a lot of new faces and learning a lot of new things it is likely that we will run over that 60 minute window. Parents are welcome to stay for the entirety of the class and directly participate as well if necessary.

We are eager to start this journey with an Adaptive Athlete Program that we hope will foster individual growth, community, and inspiration to live better lives.
